Yaz is Y-A-Z, but say it like jazz, the music. My full name is Yazcara, but don't worry. Nobody can say it right, in any language.
I like to do things well and the right way. I keep learning, so I always know what is happening.
I was born in San José and grew up in San Isidro de El General, in Pérez Zeledón. I grew up on a big property where I could read outside up in a tree, eat fresh fruit from the trees every day, and pick vegetables right there, with days at the beach too. Growing up in Costa Rica was a beautiful life. Before real estate, I worked in public administration in Costa Rica and studied business administration.
I visited Florida often since I was 7 years old, and I moved here in 2000. In 2005 I passed my real estate exam on the first try, before I really knew what real estate was.
In 2008, when I started to understand real estate, I decided to learn as much as I could: politics, the economy, and how government projects affect property owners. I keep learning so I can help my clients the best way possible, and I bring my business knowledge and my eye for investment to every deal, here or there. Veterans are close to my heart: I serve on the Board of DDS4Vets.
Outside of work, I follow good soccer: most of all the European leagues, some Latin American teams, and of course the World Cup. I love my hometown team in Costa Rica, even when they don't play well. I also have a tradition when I travel. In every city with a Hard Rock Cafe, I stop for a beer and the signature burger of that cafe, and I take home a collector's glass.
My leadership positions and my network of Realtors around the world keep me on top of what is going on in the market, so I can advise my clients the best way possible.
Licensed real estate instructor. I teach mostly in Spanish.
I believe learning is the key to being a good professional. I teach real estate classes, mostly in Spanish, and I translate the Code of Ethics into Spanish.
Tell me your dream, and I will guide you step by step, in English or Spanish. If I don't know something, I will find out for you. I'm happy to help you. Just let me know.
